Pretty spot, helpful & friendly hosts.
However was little in the area in terms of eating out most places were closed.
The room was nice but smell of dogs & mage me sneeze.
The breakfast included, could have been nice However couldn’t eat it after seeing our toast was covered in mould & fruit had hairs on it. Unfortunately wouldn’t return.

We had originally intended to stay here in 2017 but were unable due to unforeseen circumstances. We booked again for a four night stay and are so glad we did.|The peace and quiet were wonderful. The room was extremely comfortable and everything you could possibly need or may have forgotten to bring was provided - from cotton pads to ear plugs (not that we needed those, it was so peaceful!). The view over the river when breakfasting was great and the breakfast itself was filling and delicious with choices including fresh fruit, cereal, toast, homemade pancakes, fry up and boiled eggs.|Esther and Ian were excellent and generous hosts, they were so welcoming and friendly from the off. Kali (the dog) is simply gorgeous and so well behaved.|Overall, we highly recommend The Haven.

Stayed here for one night on our recent trip to Scotland. There is only one room for people to rent so we had the undivided attention of Iain and Esther. They were so welcoming and sitting in their garden overlooking the River Dee was very relaxing. The room was very comfortable with a state of the art bathroom and our breakfast was amazing. I would highly recommend this delightful B&B

Stayed here at the end of July 2020, unfortunately just for one night.||Room is very nice, it’s a very old cottage but it’s still a reasonable size with a compact but very usable en-suite.||The location is serene, situated next to the river Dee it’s a great base for walking or biking etc, close enough to Castle Douglas but feeling wonderfully remote.||Esther & Ian were perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome in their home, breakfast served in the conservatory overlooking the river and beautiful garden was the perfect start to our day. We very much hope to visit again soon ❤️

A very comfortable, quiet b&b with a beautiful garden. The breakfast is awesome, with a lot of choice. The owners are very welcoming, and. Bridge of Dee is close to Castle Douglas which has a good choice of eateries. Set in lovely countryside, with plenty to see and do nearby.

We have frequented many b&b's, but this is the best we've ever come across.The house position is tremendous , looking onto the River Dee. The food is excellent, with imaginative presentation. The owners have such an interesting (and interested) approach to llfe, and hospitality takes on a new meaning there. We would certainly like to be regular visitors there.

Strong smell from dogs. Milk and water jugs covered with unhygienic crocheted cloths. Kettle on windowsill (almost like an old camping kettle) not easy to use, had to be turned off at plug socket near skirting board. Cannot recommend.
