Great place to camp. They had many amenities in the little convenience store. We did the glamping tent with the air conditioner. It doesn’t make you cool on a hot day, but helps if you ventilate the tent. The lake is beautiful.

Love it here. There is no sand in all camp sites, only tiny stones. Our breaker on power pole didn't close when we arrived, so we called office. They sent someone out to check and we needed a new breaker. This was on a Sunday. Wonderful staff and great camp hosts. Very clean park. We go here as often as we can. Very hard to reserve a spot.

Lake Louisa State Park is an excellent choice for people seeking an active camping experience across the spectrum of camping varieties: Primitive, luxury, cabins, RV, and carefree (where they take care of most of your major needs).

My family elected to try out the glamping experience, and we were not disappointed. The tent was high and spacious. It featured two twin Beautyrest air mattresses and and a comfy queen bed. They all slept comfortably and came with plush linens. The pillows were pretty flat, so you might consider bringing your own. The tent was equipped with one air conditioning/heating unit, but the A/C unit was not sufficient to the task of cooling the tent in the face of brutal Florida sun. However, it did reasonably at heating in the face of an unexpectedly cold November evening. The tent also included a Keurig with k-cups and creamer cups, some extra electric outlets, mixed tables, a bit of shelving (think a three-tier rolling cart from Ikea), plenty of lighting, and some comfortable (but appropriately simple) seating.

Outdoors featured a small charcoal grill, fire pit with grate, small tarp, a couple Adirondack chairs, and a picnic table.

I'd classify the decoration as shabby chic? It feels country, but still stylish.

The Camper's Canteen was close by, and it featured plenty of small conveniences, campsite services, bicycle and watercraft rentals, and lots of equipment and bait for fishing.

The restroom and shower facilities actually impressed me with their cleanliness. Staff takes great care of the entirety of the property, in general.

There are plenty of trails, lakes, and opportunities for outdoor activities. The park offered kayaking, canoeing, eco tours, Segway tours, and equestrianship.

If you're hitting the trails, then hone your skill with a map. Most of the trails intersect and the posts declaring your position aren't always present at forks. Your intention to walk two miles could end up being five.

As far as hiccups, our tent's net door lacked a vertical zipper. We also found the inability to turn off the exterior lighting a bit irritating when trying to sleep. There is a way around it, but they ask that you don't fiddle with the wiring.

Wildlife is present, but we didn't run into a lot of it: Plenty of butterflies and insects, a gopher tortoise, a raccoon running from a dumpster, a couple of rabbits and plenty of squirrels. A variety of birds abound. Rangers said that white-tailed deer were in the park, but we saw no sign. There was plenty of evidence of wild hogs.
