This B&B is perfectly curated, just two blocks from the beach they offer an amazing- and mean truly amazing - breakfast, lemonade & tea throughout the day, wine happy hour, warm cookies and a complimentary shuttle into town for dinner reservations. The rooms are adorable, beautifully curated honor bar. Le Labo toiletries. My only complaint is the airflow in rooms. The steam from the shower lingers and there is little airflow, making the room feel moist even hours later. The staff was warm, friendly and very attentive.

One of the best stays my wife and I has ever had.
The hotel was amazing has such a great feel and moody vibe.
Everyone in the hotel treated us with amazing service.
The breakfast in the morning was great to start the day.
Courtesy Green Mercedes SUV that takes you anywhere in town for dinner was a fun treat.
Everthing about this hotel was above an beyond my expectations of what a hotel could be like. Definitely a one of a kind stay.

We stayed here during our anniversary and really loved our time! Very accommodating and easy to work with staff, room was very clean, very quaint and aesthetically pleasing. Our view was pretty and had a whole view of the property. Daily breakfast on the library roof was a great addition that came with our room. Very scenic to all our walking needs too! My only minor gripe was the room pillows were a little unsupportive and the room got hot for a bit till the AC came on a while after changing the AC from heat to cool.

I’m also unsure if they have changed their room prices in the past few years, but all the negative reviews about how guests were charged $6,000 for 4/5 nights are lying. Please don’t listen to them, we got our money’s worth and plenty of great amenities.

All that said though, highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

We enjoyed our 2 day stay at the LaPlaya. The room, staff, food, bar, and grounds were all fantastic. The place has been remodeled recently and it is stunning. The location is very convenient being close to both the Carmel Beach and Downtown Carmel. Parking is relatively convenient as they have their own parking lot. Highly recommended!

Wouldn't recommend. I'm pretty sure it's only priced what it is because of location. Nothing else would make me want to stay here again. Room was small. Food was meh, the upgrade we paid for, the "ocean view" was completely obstructed by a building, trees and the bar. We could not even have our curtains open because the lounge patio (that was always full and loud), could see right into our room. Spend your hard earned money on an actual ocen view.

La Playa is well located in Carmel. It's a nice hotel, but the rooms are extremely small. La Playa may have larger rooms which I intend to inquire about on our next trip. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Given code restrictions within Carmel, it's difficult to find an upscale hotel with modern, well accompanied rooms.
