When we arrived at La Granica we were meet by Mark, Karen and Karen’s Mother they are all very gracious people and make you feel at home right away. Mark took are luggage to the room we booked the “Red Suite” which is a corner room that is very modern and very clean and has a great view. Mark gave us a bottle of the local white wine as a welcome gift and it was very good. Mark also made dinner reservation for us in the near by village of Nissa Monferrato at “La Signora in Rosso Enoteca” which in a cave and the food and wine was fantastic I would recommend it to all. Unfortunately I took ill and we had to leave early but Mark was very understanding. My wife and I would recommend “La Granica” to any one that wants a quite and relaxing place to stay.

My girlfriend and I stayed here as the final stop on our Italian road trip, sadly only for 2 nights, I could have stayed much longer.||||The place is stunning, nestling on a hillside in the Piedmontese countryside. It is very peaceful and secluded.||||Before we had even had a chance to put our bags down Karen was offering us a glass of the locally produced wine (I ended up buying a few cases of the stuff, it really is very good!), and when we were shown to our room we were stunned. The room is huge, and the bathroom is amazing.||||The swimming pool is a nice bonus, and I particularly enjoyed wandering amoungst the vines!||||The remote location isn't too much of a problem as far as eating goes, and there are some great local restauraunts in the area, serving anything from pizza and pasta to local cuisine. The prices are great also, as this area is certainly not a tourist trap.||||Mark and Karen were lovely hosts offering great advice when you wanted it but leaving you to your own devices if you so desired. Thanks again guys for a lovely stay!

What a wonderful surprise. After a busy Italy vacation we ended it with the two most gracious hosts (Karen &Mark) in a most wondeful 4 room hotel. You need to carefully follow directtions to find it but you will be rewarded with accomodations as perfect as are the hosts. Only regret is we stayed on the last night of outr trip and would have loved to spend extra nighrs. And they have a swiming pool.

My wife and I stayed here for a few nights and it proved the ideal base from which to explore Piedmont. Its small size and remote location was perfect, meaning it was peaceful and relaxing, set in a wonderful vine-clad valley, but it remained within a few minutes' drive of the local town. The owners were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure we experienced the best the locality had to offer with restaurant and wine tasting suggestions (along with making reservations), and advice about the best local specialities to try and where to try and buy them (the local amaretti biscuits are sublime). This is not a hotel for the guest who expects to be waited on hand and foot, though - but the personal touch which replaces it means it is much the better as a result. We will return.

A thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable stay in this wonderfully rural and friendly establishment.||We stayed for 6 nights in the self contained 2 storey, 2 bedroomed self-catering property which occupies the central section (between the 4 bedroomed hotel and owners' own residence) of this tastefully renovated building and were delighted to have done so. ||I can only echo all the positive comments made by the other reviewers - thoroughly recommended!||Own car is a must as situated down some narrow narrow lanes in charming countryside. ||Fontanille is the closest village, only a 5 minute drive away, and has a little grocery/general store, a cafe where the (older) locals congregate and a magnificent church as the centre-piece of this small, quaint village. It's wine making 'Cantina' (a local co-operative which our host's grapes contribute to) well worth a visit - excellent quality product! ||We took a day trip to (surprisingly attractive and interesting) Turin city centre, taking the train from Asti (c.40 - 50 minute drive away), which we would recommend for the experience and contrast to Fontanille

We spent 3 nights here in February and enjoyed every minute. The British owners are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was simple but plentiful and the one evening meal well worth staying in for. If you like "off the beaten track" this is the place for you although there is no shortage of local restaurants and sights.

This is a wonderful "get away from it all" retreat in the Piedmonte region of Italy, right in the heart of Italy's wine producing zone. Indeed it is on a working vineyard. That said it is just a short drive to lots of interesting places including the cities of Turin, Milan and Genoa together with many small market towns full of character and charm.||||The hotel has 4 suites which offers bed and breakfast and a self catered cottage.||||It is a newly renovated part of the building and tastefully decorated and furnished throughout. ||||Getting there is relatively straightforward. There are clear instructions from their website. We flew from the Uk to Genoa airport and then hired a car. Once we had figured out that we needed to get onto the "AutoStrada" (our Italian is non existent unfortunately!) the rest of the transfer was plain sailling.||||The hosts, Mark and Karen, simply could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made our visit very special indeed. We cant wait to return to enjoy some more 5* hospitality.

We'll be back!
