From the moment I drove into the JD Hyde Historic Inn in Visalia, California, I felt an overwhelming sense of home and welcome. The history and energy of this Victorian Bed and Breakfast envelop you in a warm embrace that is simply unforgettable. As Maya Angelou beautifully said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." This place embodies that sentiment perfectly.

Every room in the inn is a work of art, designed to feel like a warm hug. I had the pleasure of staying in the Mary Jane Suite, and it quickly became my favorite spot. Each sitting area, the dining room, the hot tub, and the outdoor fire pit provided magical moments that I will cherish forever. Whether you're seeking a solo retreat or a getaway with friends and family, this charming abode offers luxurious comfort and enchantment.

The hospitality was nothing short of amazing. Every morning, I indulged in fresh coffee and baked goods, and the posh dinner was a delightful experience. The location is perfect for strolling into town for coffee or exploring local eateries, where the friendly locals made our visit even more enjoyable. We also took a day trip to the Sequoias, and after a day of adventure, returning to this beautiful home was pure bliss.

The owners have done an incredible job preserving the respect and history of this home, maintaining the charm of its time period with exquisite music, vintage furniture, clawfoot tubs, stunning art, and attention to every detail. As a California native, I felt a deep sense of pride for the beauty and history that this state holds.

I can’t wait to return and bring more friends along for the experience, and I’m already planning to celebrate my next birthday at JD Hyde Historic Inn. If you’re looking for a magical escape, this is the place to be! Five stars all the way! ?

We had the absolute perfect visit. We came to visit Sequoia National Park and stayed here. It was exceptional! We used the spa after hiking and had cocktails at the firepit before walking to dinner in town. Everything was super easy and the house managers, Dezirae and Greg, were super accommodating and surprised us with an amazing cocktail! The beds were so comfortable and everything worked perfectly. This place is filled with character and charm. It’s an experience and was icing on the top of a fabulous weekend getaway from Los Angeles.
