Me and my wife got married yesterday in winter park yesterday and wanted a little day getaway and stumbled upon black dolphin inn and we are in awe! From the moment we stepped on property and entered the doors we were greeted by Sharon who is amazing she showed us the property had a choice of 3 different breakfast that are delivered to our room for a cozy breakfast in bed! Well it doesn't end there, she then proceeded to show us to our lovely room with a beautiful view of the courtyard and angled view of the river a beautiful balcony. While the treatment didn't stop there she showed us that our tub is like your own mini bath Jacuzzi which was amazing if you visit it's a must!! We are grateful to have the experience here after OUR BIG DAY!! We can't wait to come back.

Beautiful lobby and in-house bar with welcoming outdoor spaces! We invited friends who live locally to join us at the lobby bar for a drink and then enjoyed the fromt porch view of the Intercoastal Waterway.|Our room was perfect--very clean and comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was great! Rotationg choice of three items--if the Churro French Toast is on the menu while you're there--try it! You won't regret it!|Already planning another stay.

I spent Labor Day weekend at The Black Dolphin Inn. I was so excited to get a reservation, as I had tried to several times before on holidays and they were always booked. I was also very relieved to find that they had pet friendly rooms. In fact the entire town is very pet friendly. I can’t say enough about the Inn itself. It’s quaint, clean, perfectly located and the views are spectacular. True to its name you can watch the dolphins frolic and play in the inlet. The staff was one of the best things about the property. I was greeted by Taylor, who showed me around and helped get me and my dog settled. Jennifer, who manages and lives on site, was an absolute joy! She clearly loves the Inn and enjoys sharing it’s history as well as some of the local history. She helped me find things to do around town and suggested places to eat. My overall experience was the best bed and breakfast stay I’ve ever had. It was like visiting family instead of just an accommodation. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a bed and breakfast experience. I plan to return very soon.

This place is amazing, from the time you pull up front and see the street view. Then when you see the water view from your balcony. I found my Florida happy place!!! Jen the host is amazing, helped us with dinner reservations and decided to stay a 2 nd night. The breakfast was fantastic and brought up to your room. Very romantic, for couples and accommodating for families and dogs as well. Can't wait to come back. We always stayed at the Chateau Inn in Spring Lake NJ and found out same owners as Black Dolphin Inn. Soo happy to have found this place!!! Highly recommend. My husband and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. Thank you!!

My husband and I stayed in the honeymoon suite back in September for my 40th birthday. A few things rubbed me the wrong way. There was an older gentleman there in the court yard smoking cigarettes and we had to pass right by him to get to our room. The smoke was heavy and disgusting and absolutely stunk. The property should be no smoking because some people get sick being around toxins and being forced to breathe that in just to get to their room isn't pleasant at all. Smokers should have to leave the property to smoke. Also, the room was nice and cozy but it was very unclean. I'm talking about, it hasn't been dusted in at least 6 months to a year. The headboard had a thick layer of dust all the way across the top and I spent 10 mins and half a roll of paper towels cleaning it off. The kitchen area had dead bugs in the sink and the decorated glass pieces next to the sink was also filled with dust and bugs too. The piece on the wall above the bed was covered in dust and what looked like cobwebs. The shower head water pressure was so painful, I couldn't even wash my face under the water. I had to splash water from my hands. The TV remote didn't work very well as you press the channel buttons the TV wasn't responding. Last but not lease, the smell in the hall going up the stairs. It was awful. Like complete mold. It made me sick to my stomach and I avoided going out of the room unless I absolutely had to. On the positive side, the views were stunning and the breakfast was delicious. If the room was cleaned properly, I believe I would have gave 4 stars. No smoking would have gotten 5 stars. Would I stay again? That's the question...? My husband says we should give it another try.

I was fortunate enough to stumble upon the Black Dolphin Inn when our name brand hotel experience
did not measure up to expectations. Taylor, Sheila and the team at the Inn were gracious, friendly, genuine and helpful. The added benefit of an inclusive breakfast was pleasant and welcome surprise. There was ample parking, a well-designed, thoughtful and peaceful court yard. The rooms were clean, spacious and appointed with well built furniture including comfortable bedding. The location was nestled in a beautiful, well-cared neighborhood. And much to my surprise was greeted by an accompanying friendly group of neighbors, in my morning stroll along the beautiful waterfront. The proximity to the causeway, Flagler Avenue and Canal Street was easily walkable in 15-20 minutes in an area which was safe and well lit. Truly a hidden gem if your destination is the warm and endearing city of New Smyrna Beach.

We arrived home about 3 hours ago from our vacation at Black Dolphin Inn, and we enjoyed it so much that I just booked another stay in September. There were no negatives at all! Every staff member that we met was amazing! The location is great, and the breakfast was the best we've ever had at a hotel/inn. The deluxe bay view room was very spacious and spotless. We're so happy that we found this gem for our future New Smyrna Beach vacations! You will not regret choosing Black Dolphin Inn!!

What an incredible find! Entirely boho and nautically decorated, it felt like a gorgeous step into one of Florida's best places. The room was so comfortable and had a view of the bay for dolphin watching. AC was great and there was a bar and delicious breakfast downstairs. It was an ideal place to stay for me.
