WADE BRAND CO.
4/5
This holiday season, I found myself in search of a comforting and inviting place to spend a few days alone. Experiencing personal loss during the holidays is never easy, but my stay at the Hampton Inn in El Segundo, CA, provided the solace and care I didn’t even know I needed.
From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming staff who made every interaction feel genuine and sincere. Checking in was a breeze, and my third-floor king bed room exceeded my expectations. The room was impeccably clean, with a comfortable bed and updated bathroom that boasted fresh towels. While the blanket provided could’ve been a bit thicker for my liking, I slept well and appreciated the cozy atmosphere.
Although the shower needed a second rinse to meet my personal standards, I could tell the space had been thoughtfully prepared for my arrival. Instead of bothering room service, I quickly cleaned it to my liking and felt right at home.
The hotel itself maintained a peaceful ambiance despite the expected holiday hustle and bustle. I did hear some children playing above me and a neighbor nursing a hangover, but I chalked it up to the Christmas joy and simply turned up my TV to enjoy some entertainment.
Breakfast each morning was a welcome treat. While I missed the absence of potatoes, the options available were sufficient and consistently replenished by the attentive cooking staff. During my stay, I had one minor dining issue that was promptly and professionally resolved by Jerry, who ensured I left the situation feeling satisfied.
The reception staff truly stood out. The gentlemen on the night crew were polite and helpful, the morning team of young women brought a bright and friendly energy, and even the overnight receptionist—who I met during a shift change—was delightful. Their collective efforts made me feel valued and cared for during my stay.
One of my favorite features was the 24-hour snack shop, stocked with a variety of options, including some veggie chips I’d always wanted to try. The restaurant and bar area also had a lively vibe, with guests enjoying signature and seasonal drinks. Though I didn’t order any cocktails, I brought my own before arriving to the room and appreciated the vibrant atmosphere downstairs. The bartender deserves recognition for her composure and attentiveness despite being understandably busy.
The hotel’s amenities further elevated my experience. The indoor pool, though modest in size, was clean, well-maintained, and open late. Families seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. The gym was impressively equipped with modern digital equipment.
Finally, the hotel’s location proved incredibly convenient. Within a 5-10 minute walk, I found food options, a Ralph’s grocery store, a Bank of America, and several convenience stores. While I noticed some travelers walking from LAX to the hotel—a testament to its proximity—I’d personally not take this walk myself. The hotel was just on the opposite side of the 105 freeway. You can see the airport from the sidewalk in front of the hotel.
Perhaps the most touching gesture was being offered a late check-out at no additional charge. This small act of kindness underscored the staff’s dedication to making my stay as seamless and comforting as possible.
While my holiday season could have felt lonely, the exceptional staff and inviting environment of the Hampton Inn in El Segundo ensured I didn’t feel alone. Their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail turned what could have been a difficult time into a memorable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this location to anyone looking for a clean, accommodating, and friendly place to stay near LAX.
To the management and staff: Thank you for your outstanding hospitality. Your efforts truly made a difference, and I hope to visit again soon—maybe even for another exceptional experience during my next trip.
