Abbiamo alloggiato al Delphi hotel e all’interno dell’hotel c’è Denae’s diner.

I bookmarked this place not realizing it was the former Standard Hotel and because I was in the area yet again because of my car (saving that for another review).

Their outside patio was lovely and the weather was perfect today finally and somehow I was the only person sitting alfresco. Very strange. Anyways, I ordered the Denae’s Slam as a splurge as I was having a late breakfast. The price is listed on the menu as $18, the server told me I had multiple options for the bread, but did not disclose it was an extra fee to get the biscuit. Obviously I chose the biscuit because I was feeling naughty BUT if I had known it was going to be a $3 up charge I obviously would not have gotten it! I hate it when servers do this, just be straight up or have it literally listed on the menu under the item description so there is no confusion.

Food was luckily tasty and decent portion which is why I still gave this place 4 stars. I got the chicken sausage and it came with 3 pieces, the biscuit thankfully was yummy and they gave the cute little individual size Bonne Maman jams and honey as well.

I got attentive service, other people checked in on me when my server had to take a break. But like I said was not a huge fan of being duped by the up charge of the biscuit. They also have that 5% surcharge which I find annoying in general (I thought this was banned?)- please build it into your cost or pay living wages like other countries so the customer doesn’t have to foot this.

I would recommend this place if you are okay with overpaying, luckily the food and ambience kind of made up for it.

A cute little diner stashed away inside The Delphi.

We went for a quick brunch. The atmosphere is great, calming and homey, and the servers were very polite and apt. The food was okay. My mom enjoyed the chicken sandwich. I had the English breakfast which was filling, but basic. I was interested in the Grilled Avocado, but it came out as normal and not grilled at all...

It was still an enjoyable time, we will definitely be back to try lunch and dinner.

This place is the most vibey diner you’ll ever see. I came here for a late dinner while traveling and it was everything I needed - quiet enough for a single traveler (on a weekend at 8pm), open late, super friendly service, and yummy food. I got the chicken pot pie, which was yummy & a tad messy with all the flaky goodness, and the banana cream pie to-go. Everything was solid, but my favorite part was just the vibes!

A really impressive and delicious diner! I go to a new diner every weekend and this has been one of the better ones I’ve tried in months. It’s located on the ground floor in the lobby of the Delphi Hotel in DTLA. I love the design on the inside, it’s in between retro and modern and has a chic look to it. It’s a sort of place you’ll want to stay a while, something in between a trendy coffee shop and an updated California diner. Our server was polite and all of our items came out fairly quickly. It took a bit to get our check but that’s to be expected because there was only one server working this morning. They have valet parking for the hotel behind the building for $20 or you can do what I did which was find metered street parking a block away. The other option in between these two would be a parking garage for around $8 or $10.

They are fairly new, but you would not know that from how well everything went today. I decided to start my meal with coffee and was delighted when they brought over a large and full French press, which has about three refills in it. For my meal, I chose one of the specials of the day which was the Eggs Benedict. The wilted spinach on the bottom was almost sweet and very good. It allowed me to soak up all the hollandaise. I also added chili and cheese to my hashbrowns on the side and would recommend to anyone to do the same. They also added caviar on top for a great combination. For the end of the meal, we split a Banana Pudding and it was honestly really great. There were pieces of banana bread on the bottom, and it really tasted homemade versus some store-bought recipe. I would highly recommend ordering it.

Overall, it’s slightly more expensive than other places, but still not over the top, especially for a hotel breakfast. I was honestly very impressed and plan to be back in the near future. I would recommend to any fan of diners or anyone looking for a great breakfast spot downtown.

This place is INCREDIBLE. We just happened to be at their grand opening during our stay in LA. We came in for some early morning breakfast and it has kickstarted our day perfectly. The VIBES of this place. chefs kiss
The entire atmosphere is so fun with an old style diner experience and their food is equally amazing with tasty twists to all the classics.
Start off your experience with an offer of tap, spring or sparkling water. Don’t forget the $5 mimosas or their French press coffee.
I got the black Dahlia which was a French toast topped with almond brittle, blueberries and blueberry sauce. To say it delicious is an incredible understatement. We will likely be back for lunch and breakfast again tomorrow.

You don’t want to miss out on this gem.

This place is awesome. Walk into the Delphi hotel lobby and through to your left, you’ll find this somewhat hidden gem.

I walked in and it took me less than 30 seconds to get seated by a friendly server. He let me have the pick of the place, as it was less busy as it was a Monday evening.

When you sit, you feel as though you’re in an elevated diner. There are large glass windows looking out to the courtyard if you’re up for a private, yet outdoorsy setting.

I chose to be a hermit inside though haha. I ordered the Delphi Double Smash burger and was so happy I did. In n Out ain’t got nothin on this place! It’s a similar smash burger idea, just executed better. The caramelized onions are a perfect touch as well. I ordered mine with tater tots which were cooked to a perfectly delicious brown crisp. I was also served a pickle spear. When I tasted it, I know it wasn’t just your run of the mill pickle. My server confirmed my suspicion and I was right! They make their own pickles in house!

The bartender let me taste a drink they were straw testing and I couldn’t believe how good it was! Who knew two ingredients could complement each other so well! I’m not giving away his secret, but if you’d like what I’m talking about, just ask him for his “Summer Crack” drink! Haha. I loved it!

It’s always strange traveling alone and eating in a restaurant by yourself. These guys made me feel right at home and I really appreciated it.

Bottom line, if you’re looking for elevated diner fare, look no further. If you’re looking for super friendly and attentive service, go nowhere else. If you’re looking for a pretty cool playlist that is at the perfect volume to still hear it but not drown out conversation, you found it!

When traveling, I try not to repeat the restaurants I visit, but it may not be possible for me this time around. I kind of want to come back here for breakfast tomorrow, but we’ll see!

10/10 recommend.
