We live locally and have had family choose to stay at both hotels in San Juan Bautista when they come to visit. After a not so great interaction with the other Hotel, which is removed from downtown across HWY 156, they said Posada De San Juan is hands down the better option. ||The Posada De San Juan is located in the heart of San Juan Bautista. It's an easy walk to the charming downtown shops, restaurants, and Mission. The rooms are spacious and clean. The lobby area is comfortable and inviting with a generous breakfast in the morning. The Staff is attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and invested in the rich history of San Juan Bautista. ||The Owners take pride in their hotel and give back to the community as a whole. They are an integral part of the betterment of San Juan. The other Hotel feels simply like an investment, a way to make money. ||If you want a relaxing boutique hotel experience, the Posada De San Juan is the perfect stay.

What a beautiful stay. We walked in, in awe of the building, as well as the wonderful smell. It is always the little details that truly matters.
Posada De San Juan provides a cultural, family based experience. If you are looking for a warm welcome, beautiful cultural architecture, and comfort. This is a great place to stay.

From the moment we stepped into this hotel, we knew we were in for a treat! My experience at Posada de Sau Juan Batista was nothing short of exceptional.||The staff greeted us with warm smiles and impeccable hospitality, making us feel right at home from the start. Our check-in process was smooth and efficient, thanks to their attentive front desk team.||The staff worked hard to accommodate my team’s needs for the events we held over the weekend, setting up different layouts of chairs for each event. ||Upon entering my room, I was blown away by the authentic decor and attention to detail. The room was not only clean but also tastefully furnished with amenities that ensured our comfort throughout our stay. Some of the highlights were the jetted jacuzzi and double showerheads. I also appreciated that they offered gluten free options such as hard boiled eggs, fruit and yogurt for the continental breakfast.||The location of the hotel was also perfect for exploring the adorable town, with convenient access to nearby attractions.||Overall, our time at Posada de Sau Juan Batista was unforgettable, thanks to the exceptional service, luxurious accommodations, and historical vibe. We cannot wait to return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a truly wonderful experience.

The rooms were a decent size, there was no good view from the window and I overlooked this matter. I liked and used the gas fireplace, and stepped into the large jacuzzi! It had a small refrigerator and freezer and I utilized this as well. The bed was made well with crisp linen sheets. The lobby was nice, and outside the corridors were a variety of indoor plants. Upon getting up in the morning they had a continental breakfast with several choices of breakfast items. The room had 2 complimentary water bottles and chocolate pieces. Fruits, juices, milk, waffles you can make and heat on your own, yogurts, pastries, and much more! The grounds were well kept and maintained with succulents, plumerias and other beautiful plants. ||The hotel was within walking distance from the Mission of San Juan Bautista and a short walking distance from the bakery, restaurants, and other shops! Overall I enjoyed my stay! Our families also loved it! It was not far from the ocean, maybe a 20 minute drive!

I have thought about staying here for years and finally took my wife here for our anniversary. We both really enjoyed our stay. This hotel has a very nice historic feel yet it has many nice modern updated features.
The things that we enjoyed the most were the gas fireplace, comfortable mattress, and the decor both in our room and throughout the hotel. Expedia Shows that the beds have Tempur-pedic mattresses. My wife and I have slept on this brand of mattress for years because she has joint problems, and we consider it the best. It turned out that the mattress was actually a Posturepedic mattress by Sealy. Although we still prefer Tempur-pedic mattress, this was still a superior mattress to all other hotels we've stayed at, and my wife slept well on it.
The bathtub was big enough for two people to enjoy the jacuzzi tub feature although we did not use this ourselves. The tub also has two shower heads on opposite sides of the shower.
We enjoyed the nice mission style decor of the hotel. There were many nice pieces of furniture and design touches such as large acorn finials in the hall safety rails and a cute chandelier above the minibar. I have uploaded some examples of these.
The included breakfast was typical of a standard continental breakfast at a decent hotel. Food items included hard boiled eggs, make your own waffles, and juice. They did have many different flavored waffle batter choices which was a small upgrade over standard waffle batter.
The hotel is in an ideal location to walk to the many shops and the Mission San Juan Bautista.

We spent one night at this inn and drove down to see Pinnacles National Park the first day and again the next morning. The Inn has a lovely lobby with a traditional hacienda style and the desk person was very welcoming. The corridors are large and there are many ground floor rooms for the mobility impaired. The room is large and very comfortable with a large bed, a gas fireplace and big bathroom. There was a small table with 2 chairs, TV, etc. The breakfast was described as continental, but there were hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee, juice--basically everything we would have wanted. The hotel is super-quiet, walking distance to restaurants, and a very enjoyable experience. We would stay there again and definitely recommend it!
