Absolutely love this site. Revisited after almost 12 years... Saw the same site# we stayed at ( but not good for little kids ) , so picked one away down. This is the same campground I stayed at 40 years ago as a kid with the family. & Snap shots of memories came flooding back. Amazing, a place can hold a spot so long , then come back in an instant.

The check in was quick & easy ( reserved it months ahead - you can Google maps , to see what the sites look like )

The camp site itself ( upper B loop ) , all the sites were clean, free of brush , the camp pads were hard packed, no roots , etc, big enough for a large tent.

The fire rings plenty large.

Tables - clean , sturdy, permanent.

The restrooms. Very clean, but only sink & toilets.
( You can go take a shower down at the bottom of the road , at the store - amazing place )

NO fire wood or store. Bring it, buy it close . Buy it at the store down the street .

There's a Dollar General not far away.

NO electric.. if your air mattress requires electric, make sure you have a long enough cord or your car can even run the air pump.

The CAMPING.... absolute blissful & serenity. On a holiday weekend, busy. But no lt loud.

During the week, SOLITUDE.

Kids can ride their bikes for miles around 3 loop sites .

Go for a midnight walk, no lights .

Several trail heads to go hiking. The camp nature trail is AWESOME !

If you want to dip into the creek/river. From.the main road to camp. 1/2 way up. There are several pull offs. Great place to get some fresh mountain stream cool off.

Will 100% plan to return , even if it's a 1-2 day event. Want to do more. .!!

Kids - do the JR RANGER program .

Awesome campground with comfortable, spaced out and private, flat tent spots. Easy to get to but feels out of the way. Easy access to trailheads like Mt. Cammerer, but you'll have to drive at least 30 minutes for other trailheads. You don't need a parking pass if you reserve a camp site and keep your car here, but you'll need one to park anywhere else or after you check out.

Had a great time here. Quieter than Cades Cove for sure (tradeoff: no camp store).
The creek is great. Not deep enough for kids to swim in, but great rock hopping and good places to wade and cool off.
Restrooms were clean and plentiful.

This place is amazing- if you want to have a complete reset, this is the place to be.
No phone service. Well taken care of campground. Quiet hrs are from 10pm-6am. No electricity. Availability for RV & Tents. Access to different trails. There is a Dollar general about 20mins from the campground in case of emergency things. Great Place ! Off the grid. We didn’t see any bears but they are very strict with their bear policies and safety measures.

Beautiful and well maintained campground. It’s about 30 minutes from Gatlinburg so you don’t have to deal with nearly as many tourists. The trails were all well kept and had lots of signage to ensure you followed correctly. There were lots of clean bathrooms (though the ones actually in the camping area didn’t have soap from what I saw) as well as picnic areas for day visitors.

The B loop is more uphill from the A loop. We had to split our stay between the loops and they were both beautiful. We brought a small camper and had a great time. We’re normally tent campers and would absolutely go tent camping here as well. The pads are large, level, and had a small layer of very fine gravel. The only negative is there isn’t a shower/bath house.

We stayed at site B19 for one night, Saturday - Sunday, May 20 - May 21. It felt very safe and quiet, but we did experience heavy, steady rain the entire time we were there. I didn't notice any tent pads/ areas that were flooded or held standing water. We were on the outer edge of the B loop and definitely had more space than the inner B loop sites. We were close to the bathrooms but still felt secluded enough (for being close to the bathrooms). The bathrooms were lit up but they didn't feel like an intrusion on our dark evening. Even though we were on the outer edge of loop B, we could easily see loop A campsites, so keep that in mind. The campsites are not next to running water although the campground is. Parking is on the side of the road, parallel to the road, and site B19 definitely did not fit a truck. Neither would many of the sites (too narrow and uneven) Site B20 and B21 did, however. Everyone parking on the road made the campground feel very crowded and claustrophobic. Bathrooms were clean enough and relatively bug free. Sinks were nice and large. No paper towels to dry your hands on.

I highly, highly advise downloading a map of the trails you wish to hike. We could not find the trailhead to Hen Wallow Falls no matter how hard we looked, and that was very disappointing. We hiked to the overhead instead but it was overgrown.

We stayed for one night before a two day hike. Great site. Plenty of room. Clean. Trees (we hung 4 hammocks at our site (A15). No bugs (this is quite odd since ND/MN breads them!! Great sites for tents. Bathroom was easy access and clean - no electricity so no showers or plugins (which didn't bother us). Not sure if it was because it was a Sunday/Monday or August - but very quiet. Plenty of parking. Great temps! Beautiful country. Plenty of trails for day hikes. Trails are groomed for those that don't want hard hikes and other trails are less groomed for those wanting a little challenge. Come prepare for rain! Every night it rained.
I tried to show the pictures in order of our two day hike with the signs marking our route - well marked. Please note: the route was a challenge and our 8 year old was quite the trooper - 3 days would be good for an inexperienced hiker. For mid August our trail wasn't overly busy. We didn't see much for wildlife - day two we ran into trail grooming and that wasn't enjoyable, but nothing that ruined the hike. Lots of amazing streams and clean cool water.
Leave no trace was perfect - with the exception for the final 2 miles from the falls to the campground. Disappointing to see people leaving their trash or carving in the trees.
Would definitely visit and hike the AT and Smokey mountains again!
